Pay to get out of pain, pay to get into pain.

My career as a chiropractor finds me helping people get out of pain.  Teaching fitness classes finds me putting people into pain.  Research convincingly shows that those who exercise regularly have less pain in their daily lives and as they age.  My own experience shows that those who invest in "putting themselves into pain" (exercise) regularly, have a much  lower recurrence of whatever pain they originally saw me for.   It is the reason I teach exercise as a part of my chiropractic care.  In the long run, those who will only invest in getting out of pain will have more of it.  How?  This is from Neil Anderson, a former CrossFit web radio announcer:

Neil's Law of Reciprocal Pain

The only thing as certain as death and taxes is pain.  You're going to have it.  From a health and fitness stand point, you only have about TWO choices for how you will receive your pain.  You can take it in small increments on a nearly constant basis (as in exercise, soreness and small injuries), or you can put it off and take it all at once (as in a debilitating disease or heart attack or stroke, etc).  I call this, "The Law of Reciprocal Pain."
